How to Process Documents at the Cuba Embassy or Consulate

The staff at Capital Authentication assists clients with the Canadian Apostille or Attestation process. This process is more commonly referred to as Authentication and Legalization of Canadian documents. Our clients typically are individuals who are seeking to relocate to Cuba and they need to validate certain Canadian documents. Another segment of our client base are individuals travelling to Cuba in order to get married. From a corporate standpoint, we regularly assist corporations and lawyers with processing their required corporate documents.

As an expert in the Canadian document authentication and legalization field, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your unique situation. During our discussion, we will review your material and ensure that it is accurate. We will confirm that the documents meet Global Affairs Canada’s requirements and the diplomatic mission of Cuba. At the same time, we will also provide you with an expected timeline from start to finish while supplying you with a fully itemized quote. Our approach remains unique within the industry, and we employ what we refer to as The Completion Time Method when authenticating and legalizing Canadian documents for use abroad. We would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Common Document Legalization Questions

The Embassy of Cuba is quite particular in terms of the supporting documentation that is required if one is seeking to get married in Cuba. The Embassy requires the following documents:

  • Long form birth certificate
  • Single status declaration
  • divorce certificate (if previously married)

These documents must be translated into Spanish by a Certified Translator, notarized and authenticated by Global Affairs. All of the documents are submitted to the Embassy of Cuba for legalization.

As an expert in the authentication and legalization space, our office can assist with the translation, notarization, authentication with Global Affairs Canada and legalization with the Embassy of Cuba.

There are a number of factors that have an impact upon the overall cost of having documents legalized at the Embassy of Cuba. For instance, the number of documents that you have, whether you have the required notarized translations, the Embassy fees, our professional service fees and any courier costs.

It is recommended that you reach out to one of our helpful staff who specializes in the Canadian authentication and legalization process. We would be more than happy to guide you through the requirements. We would also be happy to provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expected fees.

The Embassy of Cuba is taking two to three days to complete legalizations. The total length of time required to have your documents processed will depend upon the completeness of your documentation at the time of submission. As the Embassy of Cuba is quite particular, we would be happy to discuss your unique situation while providing you with an accurate timeline.

There are many instances when it is more convenient for a client to have documents sent directly to our office as opposed to their receiving them first.  For example, government issued documents such as birth certificates can be sent directly to us.  We can receive them and start compiling a client dossier with the authentication and legalization component to commence once we have all of the documents.
